Trollbeads Together Apart!

On 20 May 2020, Trollbeads released this amazing rainbow ‘Together Apart’ bead! The rainbow is a symbol of hope, and this bead is a reminder that we’ll get through these difficult times together.

The bead has a rainbow pattern, with two cute fluffy clouds - one on either side of the bead. The rainbow is sort of transparent, and the centre of the bead is white.

When I first saw the promo pictures this bead, I was instantly in love with the design! I absolutely love rainbow beads, and this one is especially beautiful, cheerful and bright! I ordered 2 from the Trollbeads website on release day, and they arrived 8 days later. I was so excited - and have been wearing them ever since!

Magical Nights by Elsie Handmade Beads!

This blog post showcases my newest beads from Elsie Handmade Beads! 

Elsie Handmade Beads are made by the very talented Elsie Van de Mergel. Her range includes an array of gorgeous high quality coloured, textured and patterned glass beads with silver cores. I am a big fan of Elsie Handmade Beads! Her beads are always high on my wishlist - but when I saw her post pictures of her new Magical Nights beads on instagram, I was completely and utterly enchanted by them! The mix of colours, the sparkles, and the shiny glass had me captivated! I just had to order two of Elsie’s rainbow beauties from Les Trouvailles D’Anne!

My beadmail parcel from Les Trouvailles D’Anne arrived last Thursday. I was super-excited to open the package and see my new beads - and was overjoyed with how gorgeous they are! To my suprise and delight, in addition to three wonderful caramel bars, Anne had also included an awesome glittery free bead that reminds me of a beautiful night sky! I’m so very happy and grateful!!!

The glittery night sky bead looks amazing with my Trollbeads Shimmer Royal bead. The colour of the two beads is a near-perfect match! I am already thinking of how I can create some ‘night before Christmas’ themed arrangements with these beads for December!

The rainbow Magical Nights beads are truly special. They remind me of rainbow ice cream - but with the added awesomeness of glitter! They are like magical unicorn beads! I think they go really well with my Trollbeads Forest Mist beads - which have long been favourites of mine. Magical Nights by Elsie Handmade Beads would suit many bracelet themes - but I can’t wait to use them in some fairy, fantasy, and unicorn designs!

I just love the colours, textures and patterns of Elsie’s beads! It seems like she is always making must-have designs. I am hoping to collect more of her beads as my budget allows. I would post my wishlist for Elsie Handmade Beads - but honestly, I just want them all!

My First Novobeads!

In this blog post, I share my newest bead-mail acquisitions - my first-ever order from Novobeads!

Novobeads are made in the United States of America. The brand’s range includes beads, charms, locks, stoppers and bracelets made from a variety of materials - including silver, glass, stone, leather, silk and sparkling cubic zirconia! Novobeads can be purchased from the Novobeads website (which ships from the United States of America), and from Perlen (which ships from Denmark). My order came from the Novobeads website.

My first Novobeads!

For a long time, I’ve been admiring Novobeads from afar. So, when I saw that the Novobeads website was having a sale, I just had to try some! I ordered a Silver Bracelet chain, a Leaf lock, and two charms - a Novo Classic Egg, and an Ice Cream Cone.

The Novo Classic Egg bead is lovely and shiny, but it has an imperfect side. I’m not sure if all Novobeads Novo Classic Egg beads are the same, or if it’s just mine! I don’t think it’s super noticeable, but it does catch on the chain as it slides along, and you can feel that it is bent out a fraction when you hold it. It is a pretty egg, though - and fits in well with my collection!

The cute little Ice Cream Cone is beautifully detailed, and is weighted so that it won’t turn upside down when it’s worn on a necklace! I think it will be perfect for the coming Aussie summer. (I also have some other ice cream charms on order from the recent Moress sale - I think they will complement this ice cream nicely!)

The Novobeads Silver Bracelet chain is really very beautiful! I just love the style of the links. It almost seems a shame to cover the chain with beads! It has instantly become one of my favourite charm bead carriers, and I have been wearing it every day since it arrived.

My new Novobeads charms, lock and chain!

The final item that I ordered from Novobeads was a Leaf lock (which acts as a clasp to close the bracelet chain). I often struggle with pain and a lack of strength and dexterity in my fingers (because of my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)), so when I saw the unique type of lock that Novobeads offers, I thought it might be easier for me to use than other styles of clasp.

Unfortunately, the Leaf lock is not as easy for me to open as I’d hoped it would be. I find it difficult to apply enough pressure to open the Leaf lock while unhooking or hooking it onto the chain (especially one-handed - when putting the bracelet on or taking it off) - but I still like it a lot!

The Novobeads Leaf lock is a simple but beautiful design. It would suit many bracelet themes, and it also looks lovely on its own. The lock fits my Trollbeads chains, and it works really well as a necklace pendant and as a holder for other charms, too!

Overall, I am very happy with the quality and look of the Novobeads items that I ordered! They fit in well and are compatible with my existing collection of mixed-brand beads and bead carriers. I’ve been having heaps of fun playing with different combinations and bracelet and necklace arrangements since my order arrived, and can see myself wearing these pieces a lot in the future!

I’m also fairly sure that I’ll be ordering more Novobeads in the future. As I mentioned above, I just LOVE the style of chain that Novobeads offers! It really would look beautiful on its own - but I ordered a bracelet size to fit when it is full of beads, so mine is a bit too loose without beads...

At the top of my wishlist from Novobeads are:

• A shorter Silver Bracelet chain (so that I can wear it alone or with one or two charms and have the pretty chain showing!)
• Some of Novobeads’ gorgeous Mini CZ beads (I especially adore them in the pastel shades - like the Baby Pastels Mini CZ Bundle, the Heather Mini CZ and the Champagne Mini CZ! All together, I think these beads would make an amazing pastel rainbow!)
• The silver Nutcracker bead (he is just so cute - and perfect for Christmas!)
• A Silver Necklace chain (to wear alone, with a pendant, or with a few charms!)
• The Log Cabin (I love little houses and building beads! So far I only have one house and one kennel - but I have this faraway dream of one day collecting enough little building beads to make a tiny village on my bracelet!)

Imitation Sea Glass for the Aussie Summer!

This blog post features my colourful new imitation sea glass bead acquisitions!

While perusing craft supplies at Over the Rainbow (one of my favourite online Aussie craft shops) last week, I came across some large hole imitation sea glass beads that would fit onto my charm bead carriers! The beads don’t have cores, but they were nice and cheap, and looked like they would fit in well with my existing charm bead collection, so I ordered quite a few...

Some of my new beads! 

The beads are made from recycled glass and were available individually or in packets of 10. I got packets of 10 beads in 5 colours - Clear, Desert Gold, Shamrock, Pacific Blue and Royal Blue. My order arrived 2 days later, and since then, I have been having lots of fun playing with my new candy-coloured treasures!

A sea bracelet fit for a mermaid!

I have enough to make a whole set of colourful sea glass jewellery! The shape of the beads make them comfortable to wear on my chains and Trollbeads hairband - and they have a large enough hole to fit on my Pandora interchangeable earrings as well. They also feel quite light - which is good for earring beads! I wish there were more than 5 colours available in these beads - a full rainbow would look lovely!

I can see myself wearing these beads a lot over the coming Aussie summer! I especially like the way they look all together on my Trollbeads hairband, and I can see them complimenting my collection on a necklace or bracelet, too! I find it handy to have some duplicate beads to tie designs together - and these are a cheap option for doing that.
